Swatcharama - Sleek True Colour Lipsticks

This is quite a small Swatcharama as I only have 5 Sleek lipsticks so far, but they've just released a load more colours and some of them are screaming at me to buy them so I might be updating this soon :P

The True Colour lipsticks come in two varieties: Sheen and Matte currently I only have one Sheen. The Matte ones are completely opaque and brilliantly matte but are quite dry which makes them harder to apply. On the lips they're slightly drying but not badly so, they look great (I love matte lipsticks) and last for absolutely ages. They're really stuck on the lips so last through eating and drinking with no problems. The Sheen one is slightly less opaque but still very pigmented and has a lot more 'slip' which makes it easier to apply and it's not at all drying, however it doesn't last as long. It still stays put for a good while but will fade away especially through eating and drinking.

Anyway, swatches:
'Amped' a bright, blue-based pink (Matte):

'Candy Cane' A deep, almost red yellow based pink (Sheen):

'Heartbreaker' basically the same as Candy Cane only matte (Matte):

'Mystic' Like Amped's deeper cousin, it's even more blue and is on the verge of being properly purple (Matte):

'Papaya Punch' a light, bright coral (Matte)

Swatcharama - Sleek Pout Paints

I'll have a review of these and a comparison with OCC Lip Tars up ASAP (I need to do more testing. At the moment they seem very similar but each product has it's own advantages and disadvantages against the other) so far I really like em and think I'll probably buy more :)

Swatcharama - OCC Lip Tars

I've written an indepth, gushing review of these before and I still really like them but I've discovered they do have a couple of faults. They feather madly (though I do have very feathery lips), can be slightly drying and if you leave them without using them for a while the oil and pigments separate. You have to shake and mush the tubes for a while to get them to mix again. If you apply them without mixing properly they're not as opaque as they should be and even runnier than usual. I think I had that problem in some of these swatches. That being said I still love these things, the colours are great, they wear really well and they're just a cool product. You can get them for about £9 each.

Interlace - a light nudey peach colour. Usually I hate nudes but this one is really peachy and bright and I actually like it on me!

Swatcharama - Morgana Cryptoria Lipsticks (Take 2)

Morgana Cryptoria (formerly Morgana Minerals) is a great little indie company that is famed for it's vegan lipsticks. I have quite a few and some samples and for the most part I really love them. They now cost $12 (though the pastel formula are only $9) which is a bit pricier than most indie companies. However these come in proper lipstick tubes and (for the most part) are a lovely, long lasting creamy formula. They come in lots of colours from more neutral tones to really unusual shades. Great for finding really unique colours.
Samples are now only available for a short time after each new lipstick is released (I believe) which I think has to do with them drying out more quickly... Or something. Some of the ones I had (which were bought ages ago when the samples were still in baggies, now they're in clamshells) were very hard to apply and that can give you the wrong idea about the full size lipsticks, the vast majority of which have a fantastic formula so I do understand why they have basically been discontinued. However It's a shame. I very rarely buy any makeup without getting samples first (or if it's not indie then testing it in the shops) and while I could afford to take a chance on, for instance, an Evil Shades or High Voltage lippie which cost $4.25 and $6.50 respectively I couldn't really spend $12 on a lipstick that I couldn't be sure I would like. And that makes me really really sad because I love the Morgana lippies I have and there are so many new colours I like the look of :(

Having said that, Morgana has a lipstick membership program where for $25 a year you get all lipsticks for $9 plus extra exciting things. And Morgana is currently having a  25% off sale of the lipsticks. So they're $9 for everyone or $6.75 for Coven members.
So at this price I can afford to buy some new ones and will have new swatches soon :)

Sadly a lot of the colours I have are now discontinued which sucks cause there are great colours. I'm sharing them all anyway.  Another thing to mention is that some of the colours were recalled. Melissa was absolutely fantastic about this (you can see her post about it here) she made the recall as widely know about as possible  and offered a refund or exchange items without anyone having to send back her products. The problem was that the manufacturer gave her misinformation and it turned out some ingredients contained either carmine (making them not vegan) or pigments that weren't lipsafe in the US (they're fine in the EU and Canada though, oh you crazy regulations!). As soon as she found this out the recall was announced, the lipsticks with the non FDA approved ingredients were discontinued and the non vegan ones were moved to a separate section of the website and marked specifically as being non-vegan. I have some of these colours and still use them, if they're classified as safe in the EU I will assume they're fine and the FDA is just being picky :P

Anyway here be tonnes of swatches!

Swatcharama - NYX Round Lipsticks

Doesn't look like Blogger is ever going to regurgitate those comments it ate so I'm really sorry if yours disappeared!

Hmm this might not be the most timely of posts because of the all to recent NYX sale debacle (how do all these companies keep getting it so wrong??) but I had this post all ready to go and even though it sounds like the customer service is appalling I still think the products are good and worth sharing.

I have a tonne of these lovely little things. They're so so cheap (especially if you buy them from Cherry Culture during a sale.) and pretty good! They're really pigmented and creamy, not at all drying, and while they aren't super long lasting they don't fade away instantly, I need to reapply after a few hours or after eating. A couple of the paler shades go a bit patchy on me, but not terribly. The only thing I don't really like is the scent, they're sort of flowery or perfumey and I don't like that on my mouth. You can't smell it at all once it's on though, just while applying. They're definately worth the price! The swatches on Cherry Culture are appalling though, so I've ended up with some I probably won't wear and will stick on my blog sale when I finally get it up.

Orange Soda - Very unusual pastel orange with a tiny hint of peach.

Swatcharama - MAC Lipsticks

I've just finished replying to all comments since my hiatus (well apart from the post where I asked what I should post next :P) Sorry for the delay!

Mac Ruby Woo was the first lipstick I ever bought for myself and while I now hate that particular one I still really like Mac lippies. There are some Mac Products I won't buy anymore because I don't think they're as high quality as I can get from other brands or I think they're good but overpriced. But I still love the lipsticks, particularly the amplified cream and matte finishes. I do wish they'd make some more exciting colours though.

Aranged by finish :)

(I don't actually know what finish this is, it doesn't say on it and I've googled but can't find it anywhere! I don't know what collection it's from either. Sorry! If anyone knows I'll add it in :) )
Blue Eve - sheer and shimmery greeney blue with the tiniest hint of gold shimmer.

Swatcharama - Revlon Lipsticks

I really really love Revlon lipsticks and would buy a tonne more if I didn't already own basically every colour of lipstick available (and if I had any income boo hoo) . As it is I only have 5. They all apply smoothly and easily, are really pigmented, last a super long time and not even the matte shades are in the least bit drying.

Matte 006 Really Red - a lovely matte 'true' red that hints slightly towards the blue side of the spectrum.

Swatcharama - Illamasqua Lipsticks (with mini review)

Here are swatches of all my Illamasqua lipsticks. I can't actually do a review of them as a whole because oddly basically every lippie I have applies or feels different on me. I'm not sure if they're different due to the different pigments, or maybe I got a few dodgy ones. Either way I can't either recommend or reject these because each colour is different! I've done a small mini review of the product under each colour.  They retail for £15.50 which is a little steep even for the good ones but incredibly disappointing for the bad.

 Blaze:

Blaze is a lovely brightish red based orange, it's a little dry to apply but not drying. It applies nicely, smoothly and creamily despite it's dryness.

Swatcharama - Nars Lip Products

Today I have some swatches of Nars lip products for you! Hope you enjoy!
Also I added a new Barry M lip pencil to this page, I'd lost it until today.

Nars Gloss in Chandernagor.  This is discontinued (I think, it's not on the website) and I'm actually assuming it's just a gloss because it says nowhere on the packaging! It's a bit like a lip stain in that you get these brush strokes of pigment but it is also very thick and pigmented. It's not sticky like a gloss, it's more satin like a stain, but again it doesn't really 'stain' the lips, it puts on a layer of product. Anyway it's a pretty colour :P
Edit: I searched for Chandernagor and it turns out it's a 'lip stain gloss' which must be a whole discontinued range of lip products. I'm smug because it turns out my wittering on about it being half a gloss and half a stain was right! :P

Swatcharama - Models Own lip Products

Dammit I don't want to like these but I can't help it! They're really, really good and it pisses me off! (for reasons why I don't want to like Models Own see here)
They're all  affordable at £5 each (and often on 3 for 2 at Boots) and they just work. The lipsticks are creamy and truly opaque in one swipe, the lip glosses are pretty pigmented and really glossy and the balms... Oh the balms! I need to write a full review on these products because they really deserve it. Godammit, stop being good, I want to hate you! :(

Anyway here be swatches:

Swatcharama - Illamasqua Intense and Sheer Lipglosses

Today I have a tonne of Illamasqua intense lipgloss swatches for you, and 2 of their sheer glosses too.
I've reviewed this properly before here and here so I won't bother saying anymore, just look at the beautiful glosses!

Also I now have nearly every single colour of the Intense glosses. I think there are 2 or possibly 3 nude colours I don't have.... I'm even tempted by them because I love these so much, even though I don't really wear nudes! I wanna catch em all!

Swatcharama - Barry M Lip Gloss swatches

Here is the last lot of my Barry M lip swatches, today it's the lip gloss wands and glossy tubes :)

Firstly the wands. These retail at £4.49 and come in a hard plastic tube very similar to a Mac dazzleglass. The opacity changes according to the colour. I don't find these sticky at all, they're sort of silky feeling. They're not particularly long-lasting but don't disappear immediately.

No 5 - Bubblegum Pink

Slightly disappointed with this one to tell you the truth, it's a lot brighter in the tube than on the lips and not completely opaque. Still pretty though. Smells like bubblegum, but not too noticable once it's on the lips.

Swatcharama - Barry M Lip Liners and Lip Lacquer Crayon Swatches

Today I have some swatches of Barry M lip pencils for you :)

Firstly the lip liners. These are your regular common or garden lip liner pencils, they last very well, they're very dry because they're all pigment and wax and very little oil, so if you were to wear these alone I'd highly suggest using a balm underneath, or a lip gloss on top. They apply quite nice and smoothly if you take the time. I did not :P  They cost £2.99

No 13 - Baby Pink

Swatcharama - Barry M Lip Paint swatches

I've decided that as it would appear I own all the lipsticks in the entire world I should swatch them all. First I will list them by brand, so if you're interested in, for instance, Nyx lipsticks, you can look at all the colours I have. Then I'm going to organise them all into colours, so if you are looking for an orange lipstick you can see swatches of all the different ones I own and decide if there's any you like :)
For starters here are my Barry M Lipstick swatches (some of these and some of the writing comes from an old post)

The swatches were done quickly, with no lipliner, lip primer and applied from the bullet (no lip brush) so if they're messy I apologise. Also some might be a little blurry, I've chosen the ones that show the colour the most accurately and in some cased out of focus shots I took were more accurate.
Actually some of them still aren't great, the camera I usually use is out of battery and we can't find the charger. I used my Mum's which, despite being much more expe nsive and in theory better, just completely sucks! Maybe I'll redo some of them when we find the good camera's charger.

I love Barry M and particularly their lipsticks. They're £4.49 each, come in over 30 colours ranging from the sillier ones like green, blue and black to more conventional reds, pinks and nudes. The formulas are mostly creamy and smooth, but there are some exceptions. Some of the more matte colours can be a bit dry (in my collection no. 147 Peachy Pink is the worst for this) and some of the others apply patchy. They're very long lasting and (generally) very true to colour and opaque. To me they don't seem to have any scent at all. I love them and suggest you pick up a few if there are colours that excite you!

Anyway on with the swatches!
