Ich Liebe Dich

For Valentines Day I was given a necklace I've wanted for ages, this gigantic Tatty Devine Gingerbread heart. I'm a very lucky girl and wearing it felt like a Bavarian Flava Flav.

Wearing:

Necklace: Tatty Devine
Dress: Topshop
Tights: Can't remember, been in my room for ages
Boots: Old Doctor Martens (They're falling apart. I need a new pair!)

Claire said I looked kind of punky which was not what I planned but oh well. Takes me back to my teenage years.
My huge necklace isn't available anymore but there  is this smaller version here :)

Face: Homemade Conjurers Cosmetics powder foundation, No 7 Ballerina Beauty blush
Eyes: No7 stay precise eyeliner, some colours from the MUA Heaven and Earth palette, black mascara
Lips: Mac Strong Woman lipstick

Illamasqua inspired eyeliner

I don't usually post promo images but I'm making an exception for these from the new Illamasqua 'I'mperfection' collection. They are amazing!

Gorgeous aren't they all? At the moment I have no money for makeup (thanks in part to the Illamasqua sale that just ended) but when I do that green gloss is MINE!

The last photo shows one of the signature looks of the collection, the speckled eye. I absolutely loved this idea. It's so simple and yet I don't remember having seen it done anywhere before! It reminds me of a feather or snow. Both good things!

So anyway I had a go at recreating the look and I absolutely love it on me!

Wearing:
Face: Illamasqua Skin Base in 02, Sleek concealer and Correcter in 1, Illamasqua powder blusher in SOPHIE
Eyes: MUA matte eyeshadow in 16, Illamasqua eyeshadow in Blink, Illamasqua Precision Ink liquid eyeliners in Scribe and Abyss, MUA pencil eyeliner in Snow White (on waterliner), black mascara
Lips: No 7 Moisture Drence lipstick in Waterlily

OK I think I went a bit overboard on the white but I think it looks great and I felt absolutely gorgeous!
It was dead easy to do too. I think I might try adding some pink or other colour ala Robyn. Will you be trying this look? What do you think of the campaign images?

It's boil-in-the-bag perversion for sexually repressed accountants and first-year drama students with too many posters of Betty Blue, The Blues Brothers, Big Blue and Blue Velvet on their blue bloody walls!

Well yes but isn't it fun?

Yesterday I went to see Rocky Horror for a friends Birthday. It was a very impromptu thing but I had to dress up because I will dress up at the drop of the hat. As I had only a couple of days notice I was stuck for what I could wear but then my friend Pippa suggested I went as Columbia in her pjs. Perfect! An excuse to leave the house in pyjamas is always good in my book! So I nicked a pair of my Mum's (which apparently are about 40 years old and belong to an ex-boyfriend) and grabbed a pair of Mouse ears from my collection and I was done.

I have proper bitch-face in these full length photos. I swear I was smiling, you just can't tell!

My makeup sure wasn't perfect but I still liked it and thought I did a pretty good job :)

Wearing:
Face: Illamasqua Skin Base foundation in 02, Avon loose powder, Sugarpill Love+ eyeshadow (as blush), Illamasqua Intrigue blusher (a matte white highlighter)
Eyes: MUA matte eyeshadow in Shade 16, Illamasqua Liquid Ink eyeliner in Abyss, black mascara
Lips: Mac Cherry lip pencil, Revlon Fire and Ice lipstick, Mac Russian Red Lipglass

The show was good but had the weirdest (possibly most typically English) version of the Time-Warp ever. The audience were hilarious, they got up to dance in the chorus and then  sat down in every verse  then get up again in the chorus. It was ridiculous! But very very funny.

Here's me, my family and my best friend at the time going to see the show back in about 1997/8 (guessing I'm about 9 or 10) aren't we cute?

Old Photo of the day - Lilly Idol

This is from when I was about 17 (and fully punked up in my handmade Seditionaries repro shirt and terribly drawn on eyebrows) on my way to a Billy Idol concert. Ahh those were the days.

New Years Eve

Going way back in time here to New Years Eve! Claire and I went to see one of our favourite bands David Devant and his Spirit Wife. Usually I avoid doing anything on New years because it's so busy and scary but the gig was really fun and not too crowded and getting home wasn't even that horrible!

I decided to dress up as my friend Mikey (the singer), because obviously that's what a normal person does. Originally Claire was going to dress as the guitarist, Foz, but she ran out of time to make a proper outfit.

Here I am being a super cool person:

Wearing:
Face: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in 02, ELF Studio HD powder, ELF Studio Cool bronzer
Eyes: Illamasqua pure pigment in Synth, Sugarpill Pressed shadow in Bulletproof, Sugarpill Chromalust shadow in Stella, Sugarpill Chromalust in Tiara, Illamasqua Medium pencil in Sophie, Benefit Theyt're Real mascara.
Lips: Can't remember :(

Claire made me a lurex jumpsuit, I look like a very plump, glittery slug :P

Here's a pic from the night where I'm propping Mikey. This was probably taken about a minute before he toppled over taking me with him :P

Ahh posting my New Years look in March, I am clearly the best blogger ever :P

Outfit - Lotta pixies?

Hi everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posting and commenting, I've been a bit stressed and miserable lately for various reasons and also trying my best to get my house slightly tidier because if I don't my Mum is going to have a complete mental breakdown :P
But on the plus side I nearly have all my Christmas presents bought already. Awww yeah, I'm annoying!
A couple of weeks ago I went for a boogie with my sister and wore a new dress which I love:

The dress is by Lipsy from their Pixie Lott range (Claire informed me she's a singer but I have no idea who she is... I'm so out of the loop!) and I love it. I look a little bit uhh... lumpy in it, but I don't mind, and also it's a size 14 which confuses me as I am in no way, shape or form a size 14!
The little hat thing was from Asos about 2 years ago. Thinking about it now I haven't seen it since that night, I hope I didn't lose it in my silliness D:!

I really, REALLY need to find a less revolting place to take outfit photos, but the lighting in my house is appalling.

Because I was a 'little bit' drunk I didn't get any non-blurry photos of my face. Here's the best one:

You can see it wasn't that exciting anyway.

Face: Illamasqua Skin base in 02, face powder
Eyes:  Black mascara, black liquid eyeliner, Makeup Store glitter eyeliner in Holiday Glam
Lips: Mac Kanga Rouge, Mac Cherry Lipliner

Thanks to everyone who entered my giveaway! Winners will be announced soon :)

Some stupid photos under the break

Bubblegarm Sigma Competition -Black and classy

Bubblegarm is having an amazing contest where you can win a Sigma brush set of your choice. I'm so sorry I've only just mentioned it now, I actually thought I'd posted about it but now I see it was in a draft I'd written but not posted yet. Yeah I suck. But you can still enter until 11:59 tomorrow so get your brushes out real quick! ... Sorry again.

Anyway this is my entry to win the black set. It's meant to be a 'classy' look so I thought I'd keep it clean, simple and straight forward but with black glossy lips making it a bit special and unusual :)

Wearing:
Face: Nyx liquid makeup in LM01 Pale  mixed with Gosh Exceptional Wear in 11 Porcelain, Screenface white translucent loose powder, ELF studio powder blush in Peachy Keen, Evil Shades blush in Gossamer.
Eyes: the black matte from basically any Sleek palette on my eyebrows, Mac Gesso all over the lid, Illamasqua liquid liner in Abyss, black mascara
Lips: Nyx lip liner in Black Berry, Illamasqua Intense lip gloss in Repulse

This would work a lot better if I could have slicked back my hair, or if it just wasn't a ginger frizzy fraggle mane. But still, it's a makeup contest, not hair :P
And yes I'm wearing grubby pyjamas.

Outfit of the (satur)day and face of the (satur)day

On saturday it was my sister's birthday so we went to her house and then out for a nice little meal. I wanted to look nice but not overly done (as i often do)

This is a nice easy outfit i love for summer. The dress is from H&M a few years ago but has served me well! ...I dont know what i'm doing with my arms.

My necklace has flipped round to the back, which is irritating, this is it:

Snow White is probably my favourite Disney Princess, well her or Belle.

And here is my face

Wearing:
Face: GOSH x-ceptional foundation in porcelain, ELF concealer in fair, Avon powder, Illamasqua Nymph blush, Sleek Flamingo blush, Sleek contour kit in light (only used the highlight, not the contour powder).
Eyes: Sugarpill Goldilux, Bourjois glittering liquid eyeliner (dont remember what its really called), Lancome Oscillation mascara, some eyebrow pencil (have forgotten what)
Lips: Too faced Borderline pencil, Urban Decay Pleather pencil in Kink.

I love the UD pencil, it's a gorgeous colour, but has a lot of problems. It comes out in little nodules sometimes and somehow gets on my teeth like nothing else! I had some really nice photos with me smiling all wide but my teeth were covered with red crap! I did the finger-in-mouth trick about 5 times and it still creeped onto my teeth :/

And finally:

Umm... your guess is as good as mine!
