Upside-Down

  Hullo everyone.

A while ago my video collab The Makeup Heroes decided to do a look based on Makeupgeektv's Upside-Down Smokey Eye look.

I took about a million years to do mine because I suck but finally got everything finished yesterday. 

I decided to do two different looks and make my first video tutorials at the same time. You can see them on my youtube channel here.

Firstly I did a pretty straight recreation of the look, just using more sparkly makeup. I thought it looked quite pretty but I am pretty awful at smoking out shadows so it's most certainly not perfect :P

Face: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in 02, ELF Studio blush and bronzer duo, Illamasqua Under-Eye Concealer in 115 (I think it's a tiny tiny bit too pale for me :( )

Eyes: Illamasqua Precision Ink eyeliner in Glister, Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Static, Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Sophie, Barry M Glitter Dust in 23 , Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Quantum, Benefit They're Real Mascara.

Lips: Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Silk stockings  

Then I decided to do a slightly more Avant-Garde version of the look, inspired by the Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless Collection.

Eyes: MUA Matt Eyeshadow in 16, Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Tako, Illamasqua Medium Eye Pencil in Sophie, Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss, Benefit They're Real mascara.

Eyebrows: Sugarpill Bulletproof pressed shadow.

Lips: Illamasqua Lipstick in Kontrol

Makeup Heroes Number 3

Hi everyone. I think everyone has their third video up for the Makeup Heroes now you can see them all on our channel :) I've been slacking terribly and so this one is late and I'm late for the next one. Baaad me. Anyway here is mine:



However after making the video I have experiences some problem with High Voltage's customer service and sadly I would no longer count them among my favourites. I still stand by what I said about the products, a lot of what I've bought is fabulous and I love them. However because of the problems I have I will no longer be buying from them, and while I would recommend the products in a heartbeat I'm unsure if I would recommend the brand as a whole. My experience has left me feeling very sad and disappointed. I wish Jasmine the best and hope everyone who continues to buy from her has everything go well and likes the products as much as I do.

Exciting stuff!

So for the last week or so I've been very excited about a new vlogging project. You may have seen posts about this on other peoples blogs as I've been being slow due to the various woes of the early part of this week. The fabulous Wendy from Turtle Beauty has set up a youtube channel for a group of beauty bloggers to collaborate with each other - The Makeup Heroes! And I am very honoured to be part of the group :)

I think this is just the sweetest, most lovely idea! It's so generous of Candace to have put this all together herself and such a nice way to build a community spirit among bloggers and indie brands. I'll be voting for my favourite blogs and it would be great if you did too!

Safety in Cosmetics

I just saw this video (brought to my attention in a tweet from the lovely Grey) and thought it was worth sharing.
Safety in cosmetics is very important, however this is purely scaremongering. Most things in the world from air to cucumbers have been linked to cancer by now (especially in the Daily Mail) and when you combine a carcinogen with a scary scientific word that most people won't fully understand it's easy to believe that big cororations are posioning our babies. So it's great to hear from someone who can sensibly decrypt the scientific mumbo jumbo.

I've read all of your requests for what you'd like to see on my blog. As a few people said they would actually like to see posts about my daily life and my art/illustraton i have decided to actually merge this blog with my personal one (i post in there a lot more rarely than i do here, so if you're not interested you can just skip those posts :) ) so i will be reposting my old posts from there and keeping that blog as a sort of 'professional' blog.

I'll be doing some top 5/10 product lists, more product reviews and FOTDs and so on. A couple of people also mentioned wanting tutorials, but i am not really that great at applying makeup, i just mess around until I think i look alright. Do you think i should just go for it anyway, at the risk of looking horribly unprofessional and stuff? :P

Also just to say if i'm a bit quiet for the next little while it's because i'm busy. I'm helping a friend of mine out by making 2 Elf jackets for a christmas play and only have til sunday to complete them. Although you probably won't notice, as i love the interwebz too much to stay away for long.
