Old Photo of the Day - Blackpool

Just a quick note to say I will probably be very sporadic in posting yet again. This month is FILLED with family and friends Birthdays and my Mum is having an operation on monday so I have to look after her and keep her supplied with cups of tea.

To tide you over here's a couple of photos of me at age 14 (I think. Around then anyway) at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Yes it's true, I was once cool. And relatively slim.

Happy Mummy's Day!

That's me with Mummy Low (and also dogs sneaking into the photo). She'd hate me if she knew I'd posted this here, especially as she wasn't wearing makeup in the photo, but she doesn't read my blog so she'll never know! Mwa ha ha ha! (much evil laughter)

She is an amazing, wonderfully supportive, funny, clever woman and I love her so so much. She's always there to give me a cuddle and help dye my hair.

I've spent the day making her many cups of tea and a nice vegetarian roast dinner for us all.

Hope everyone's having a lovely day :)

Illamasqua Human Fundamentalism

I can't say much about this collection as I haven't actually seen any of it first hand (I was invited to the blogger event but couldn't come due to being too poorly at the moment and having a very stressful appointment the next day to add to the anxiety :( ) but just wanted to post this link to a tutorial on how to get this look:

Ahhh my favourite, it's so pretty!

It's called 'Teal Marilyn' and I finally realised that the teal lips and white eyebrows and liner are the colours you would get if you inverted a picture of someone with black liner and brows and red lips. A bit like the old look I did here for the Illamasqua MizzWorthy contest a couple of years ago (only obviously much better). Clearly I was their inspiration :P

Anyway I'm dying to get my hands on that lippie (Apocalips) and the liner (Scribe) as Illamasqua's Precision Ink liners are my favourite. I also want the 2 nail polishes from the line and would be interested in trying the gold foundation. I can live without the eyeshadows though as I pretty much have every colour anyway Sadly I am too poor at the moment to be buying anything :(

The new Illamasqua website is really cool, it has sections on reviews, how-tos, swatches and other things and you can email in your own, which I will probably do when I get up the nerve.  The shop part also has really stepped up with the product photos, there are tonnes of swatches and even videos showing the product in action!

Anyway I really just wanted to post that link. What do you think of the new collection? Being a big Illamasqua fangirl I really like it, I think the looks are really beautiful and cool and the ideas behind it really go with Illamasqua's non-conformist messages. However I would have liked to have seen some new products innovations or just a few less eyeshadows (eyeshadows are the makeup product I tend to be least interested in, I just have so many already and you can get fun, bright and good quality eyeshadows from tonnes of brands). I'm hoping to be rich enough to get some bits from the collection soon and will review them for you.

**Just a note, I wasn't contacted by anyone from Illamasqua to write this post and I didn't get any sort of compensation for it, I just fancied a chat**

Hi Fi Cosmetics follow up

So you may remember from my post here that I have a missing order from Hi Fi Cosmetics dating back to November. Unfortunately it is still missing and I have yet to receive a refund.

In early February someone contacted me to say that Veronica (the owner) has medical issues and some other people will be helping her run the company and would be in touch soon to sort our my problem. I replied saying I was sorry to hear about the problems but I expected to be compensated for the money I'm out.

Since then there's been no contact from the company. The Hi Fi Artfire page is now closed and says the estimated opening date will be in August. I doubt I will be getting my order or a refund and am very fed up. Hi Fi's products were among my favourite but this customer service is unacceptable. If my emails had all just gone ignored due to Veronica's illness that would be one thing but now I know that the company is aware of the problem I have and has done nothing to try and help.

In other news my Google adsense account has been disabled. I don't know why, they won't tell me. So that's annoying. On the upside it means my blog looks better!
At the moment I'm ok financially but in the future I may have to put in a 'donate' button even though I feel a bit weird about it :(

Darling Girl FOTD

Here's just a quick face from a couple of days ago, testing out some bits from my latest Darling Girl order (review and swatches to come soon!). My hair and eyebrows are both in dire need of a dye and trim, I look proper rank at the moment! Still the makeup was nice!

Here I am pouting sexily...Or not as the case may be :P

Face: homemade powder foundation and cream concealer, the blush is a neon pink Stargazer eyeshadow that the name has rubbed off.
Eyes: Darling Girl Rudolph eyeshadow, Benefit They're real mascara
Lips: Darling Girl Cookies for Claus lip balm with Raining Blood holo-gloss over the top.

Tonight there's a bloggers event for Illamasqua's new collection,  Human Fundamentalism. I was invited but for various reasons I can't go and I'm rather sad about it, the promo images look amazing!

Prettyyyy!! *__*
I hope everyone who is going/went had a great time, I can't wait to hear all about it!

I went to the doctors for my blood test results today. All clear! Which is obviously good but also slightly irritating as we still have no idea what's causing my fatigue. Boo!

New Years Eve

Going way back in time here to New Years Eve! Claire and I went to see one of our favourite bands David Devant and his Spirit Wife. Usually I avoid doing anything on New years because it's so busy and scary but the gig was really fun and not too crowded and getting home wasn't even that horrible!

I decided to dress up as my friend Mikey (the singer), because obviously that's what a normal person does. Originally Claire was going to dress as the guitarist, Foz, but she ran out of time to make a proper outfit.

Here I am being a super cool person:

Wearing:
Face: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in 02, ELF Studio HD powder, ELF Studio Cool bronzer
Eyes: Illamasqua pure pigment in Synth, Sugarpill Pressed shadow in Bulletproof, Sugarpill Chromalust shadow in Stella, Sugarpill Chromalust in Tiara, Illamasqua Medium pencil in Sophie, Benefit Theyt're Real mascara.
Lips: Can't remember :(

Claire made me a lurex jumpsuit, I look like a very plump, glittery slug :P

Here's a pic from the night where I'm propping Mikey. This was probably taken about a minute before he toppled over taking me with him :P

Ahh posting my New Years look in March, I am clearly the best blogger ever :P
